Job summary

Community Advocates, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Social Media & Communications Coordinator to develop and execute engaging communications across CA, MWC, and PPI.

The role supports the Grants & Communications Director and Chief Advancement Officer, driving visibility and a strong digital presence. The ideal candidate will manage social channels, craft stories about program impact, and create materials that are consistent with our brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing multiple priorities.
• High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Capture photos, videos, and notes at meetings/events to create social content.
• Write and produce content highlighting program impact and initiatives.
• Ensure content aligns with brand and calendar strategy.
• Develop, schedule, publish content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).
• Monitor channels, respond to comments, and track trends.
• Create flyers, registration forms, impact reports, and digital promotions.
• Maintain brand consistency across materials in collaboration with staff.
• Translate complex information into accessible audience messaging.
• Produce newsletters and manage multiple websites.
• Update CA, MWC, and PPI sites with fresh content.
• Attend events to gather content and promote programs.
• Coordinate campaigns via a communications calendar.
• Support data analytics by tracking engagement metrics and audience insights.
• Assist with donor appeals, grant materials, and event promotion.
• Assist with on-site support for events and registration processes.
• Update video content across sites and YouTube; assist basic editing.
