Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Millwright to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the feed mill/grain elevator systems. The role includes installing new equipment and adjusting existing machinery as directed.

You will troubleshoot equipment, maintain bag house filters, and ensure proper lubrication and electrical work, including 3-phase systems. The job requires a GED or high school diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience, English proficiency, and willingness to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Able to read, write and speak English and follow instructions.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.
• Welding and electrical skills, including 3-phase (480 volts).
• Knowledge of PLC automation.
• Basic computer skills.
• General knowledge of mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mill equipment.
• Installs new equipment and adjusts existing equipment as directed.
• Maintains bag house filtering devices and scales/load cells.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and supports repair planning.
• Adheres to environmental laws and Smithfield safety policies.
• Communicates environmental issues to mill management.
