Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Hemlock, MI is seeking a Journeymen Millwright / Pump Technician to maintain, repair and rebuild industrial pumps and machinery in our pump service shop. You will be responsible for thorough pump rebuilds, equipment servicing, and rigorous documentation.

Responsibilities include installing and repairing conveyors, pumps and vacuum systems, reading blueprints and schematics, keeping detailed records, and following Lockout/Tagout safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical experience with pumps and industrial equipment
• Experience rebuilding and repairing industrial pumps; vacuum pumps preferred
• Ability to read schematics and pump specifications
• Familiar with pump alignment, seals, bearings, couplings, impellers
• Physical strength to handle heavy equipment
• Lockout/Tagout knowledge
• Flexible schedule including shifts, overtime, weekends
• High school diploma; millwright license or certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pump rebuilds and document results
• Install, maintain, repair, and rebuild machinery like conveyors and pumps
• Troubleshoot vacuum pumps and identify root causes
• Read blueprints and pump specifications to plan repairs
• Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance
• Dismantle, move, rig, lift, and reassemble equipment as needed
• Collaborate with maintenance/engineering to improve efficiency
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain clean work areas
