Job summary

Canfor is hiring a Millwright for our Camden, SC sawmill. The role focuses on keeping high‑performance mill machinery running, including pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic systems, with strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.

Expected to work on the weekend shift with a 12% differential. The candidate will join a team dedicated to safety, reliability, and efficient production, applying CMMS tools to schedule and document maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments is a plus; knowledge of lumber processes is an asset.
• Basic electrical knowledge to diagnose and repair components.
• Understanding hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy machinery is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, rollers, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and implement safe repairs to maximize production uptime.
• Identify and request parts promptly to complete repairs.
• Promote a safe work environment and follow Canfor’s safety practices.
