Job summary

General Motors Company in Brandon, Mississippi is seeking qualified Mechanical Journeypersons (millwrights, pipefitters, toolmakers, machine repair) for multi‑shift assignments. You will work with minimal supervision, applying problem solving and independent judgement.

Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing mechanical/hydraulic systems, reading blueprints, operating CNC tools, and coordinating rigging and piping work. Eligible to work in the United States with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship certificate or 6 years mechanical trade experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures.
• Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints for conveyors, robots, and automation.
• Operate mobile equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
• Set up and operate CNC machines to shape parts to specs.
• Plan sequences for fabricating tools or assemblies from blueprints or sketches.
• Verify finished part quality using calipers, gauges, and indicators.

Education

U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair) or six (6) years of documented experience in a Mechanical trade
