Job summary

PADNOS, a long-standing recycling company, seeks a skilled Millwright I in Grand Rapids, MI, to install, repair and maintain machinery, diagnose issues, and document procedures for new jobs or rebuilds. You’ll work with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth production and continuous improvement.

The role requires ability to lift up to 75 lbs, reading blueprints, and 1+ year experience in maintenance. A valid driver’s license and willingness to work nights completes the profile.

Qualifications

• Valid chauffeur’s license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• 1+ years of machine repair or industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematics.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, ARC).
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Work at heights and in outdoor/industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks.
• Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs and diagnose issues on production equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations support and product development to troubleshoot.
• Develop and document procedures for new jobs or rebuilds.
• Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and etc.
• Support safety, culture, and best practice initiatives within the department or company.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.
• Dismantle equipment using hand power tools.
