Pay Rate: $41 per hour
Per Diem: $770 per week
This role leads a millwright crew in the installation and alignment of heavy industrial equipment, with a strong focus on ball mill installations as a specialty trade. You will oversee all mechanical installations on a remote industrial site, including new ball mills, CIL tanks, filter presses, and thickener tanks, while rebuilding a plant after demolition of an existing facility. The position combines hands-on field work with significant computer-based review of technical documentation and project drawings.
Lead and supervise a millwright crew in the installation of industrial equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
Perform ball mill installations as a specialty trade, including a 17 by 30 ball mill and similar large rotating equipment.
Set and install sole plates using precision optics to achieve accurate alignment and proper equipment foundations.
Align motors and gears using laser alignment equipment and laser liners, ensuring precise gear and motor alignment for reliable operation.
Access, review, and interpret project drawings and documentation using computer systems, including files stored in Dropbox.
Use Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Outlook, for project tracking, documentation, and communication.
Review extensive ball mill manuals and technical documentation, totaling approximately 1,600 pages, to ensure installations follow manufacturer specifications.
Oversee all mechanical installations, including filter presses, CIL tanks, thickener tanks, and related industrial equipment.
Spend approximately 50% of working time on computer-based tasks, including reviewing manuals, drawings, and project information.
Coordinate and direct construction activities, including some startup-related tasks, to support commissioning of new equipment.
Instruct and oversee crews of around 12 workers, including directing wire pulling activities and other mechanical tasks.
Apply experience with SAG mills, rotary kilns, or industrial dryers to plan and execute similar types of installations.
Ensure proper use and care of precision instruments such as optical levels and laser alignment tools provided by the company.
Collaborate with other site personnel to rebuild the plant after demolition of the old industrial site, ensuring equipment is installed according to design.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment alignment data, and installation progress using digital tools and PDF software such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
Work effectively in a remote, outdoor industrial environment at high elevation, adapting to changing weather and site conditions.
If applicable, communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking crew members and provide bilingual leadership support.
Proven experience as a millwright foreman or equivalent role leading industrial installation crews.
Demonstrated experience overseeing at least 12 people at a time on heavy industrial projects.
Significant ball mill installation experience, including specialty trade work on large mills such as a 17 by 30 ball mill.

Willingness and ability to work in a remote, outdoor industrial site at approximately 7,000 feet elevation with varying weather conditions.
Ability to work 60 hours per week on a schedule of six 10-hour days, including early morning departures and long shifts.
Bilingual capability in English and Spanish when leading Spanish-only speaking workers, to provide clear instructions and effective supervision.
Experience with rotary kilns, industrial dryers, or similar rotating equipment installations.
Experience with heavy industrial contractors or similar large-scale industrial construction environments.
Familiarity with filter press installations, CIL tanks, and thickener tanks in industrial plants.
Experience on remote or rural job sites where services and amenities are limited.
Comfort working in refurbishment projects, including demolishing and rebuilding industrial plants.
Ability to adapt to limited housing options in a small-town setting and coordinate lodging as needed.
Preference for candidates with heavy industrial field experience over data center or indoor-only environments.
Preference for candidates whose experience goes beyond light conveyor installation work and focuses on heavy industrial equipment.
You will join a long-term, two-year industrial project that offers stability and consistent work in a specialized, high-demand trade. The company provides a weekly per diem, transportation from town to the job site, and the computer hardware needed to perform foreman responsibilities. Precision instruments such as optic levels and laser alignment tools are supplied, reducing personal tool investment while allowing you to work with high-quality equipment. This role offers the opportunity to lead significant heavy industrial installations, develop your expertise with complex rotating machinery, and contribute to the complete rebuild of a major industrial facility in a unique remote setting.
The work takes place at a very remote industrial job site located approximately an hour and a half from a small Nevada town, with no services available at the site itself. The environment is almost entirely outdoors, with very minimal indoor work, at an elevation of around 7,000 feet where conditions can include snow in winter and cooler temperatures as seasons change. The project involves refurbishing an old industrial site and constructing a new plant, requiring daily transportation from town to the site. Transportation is provided, with departures around 4:15–4:30 AM and returns around 6:00 PM. The standard schedule is 60 hours per week, working six 10-hour days, with on‑site shifts typically running from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Housing options such as hotels and some apartments are available in the nearby town, though it is a small community with limited and sometimes difficult housing availability. The role uses computer hardware, Dropbox for document access, Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook), and PDF tools such as Bluebeam or Adobe, alongside field use of precision optical levels and laser alignment equipment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV.
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $41.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
