Aerotek in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Journeyman Electrician (Heavy Industrial) to perform skilled electrical installation, maintenance and support of electrical systems in a heavy industrial setting per NEC and project drawings.

You will install ductbanks, conduits, cable tray, grounding, lighting and control systems, read one-line diagrams, terminate cables, and mentor apprentices while upholding safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Journeyman Electrician with industrial electrical construction experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the NEC.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, plans and specs.
  • Experience installing underground ductbanks and raceways.
  • Proficient in above-ground conduit installation and cable tray systems.
  • Experience installing grounding and bonding systems.

Job Title: Journeyman Electrician (Heavy Industrial)

Pay Rate: $36 per hour

Per Diem: $770 per week

Job Description

This role performs skilled electrical installation work in a heavy industrial environment. The Journeyman Electrician will install, maintain, and support electrical systems and equipment while working from project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. Candidates must possess a strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and be capable of installing a variety of electrical systems including ductbanks, conduit, cable tray, grounding systems, power distribution, lighting, and control systems. The Journeyman Electrician will also provide guidance and instruction to apprentices and helpers as directed by the foreman or supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical systems and equipment in accordance with project plans, specifications, NEC requirements, and industry standards.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, installation details, and construction documents to perform assigned work.

  • Install underground ductbanks, conduits, and raceway systems in accordance with project requirements.

  • Install above-ground conduit systems, including rigid conduit, supports, fittings, and related hardware.

  • Install cable tray systems and associated supports for power, control, and instrumentation cabling.

  • Pull, route, secure, and terminate power, control, and communication cables.

  • Install grounding and bonding systems in accordance with electrical codes and project specifications.

  • Install and connect lighting systems, electrical equipment, panels, motor controls, and associated devices.

  • Perform electrical terminations, testing, troubleshooting, and quality verification of installed systems.

  • Work safely in a heavy industrial construction environment while complying with all site safety requirements.

  • Coordinate work activities with other trades and project personnel to support project schedules and objectives.

  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure installations meet project and inspection requirements.

  • Assist with material handling, layout, and work planning activities as directed by supervision.

  • Provide instruction, guidance, and mentorship to apprentices and helpers as directed by the foreman or supervisor.

  • Report installation issues, drawing discrepancies, and field conditions to project leadership.

Essential Skills

  • Qualified Journeyman Electrician with demonstrated industrial electrical construction experience.

  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, specifications, and installation details.

  • Experience installing underground ductbanks and raceway systems.

  • Proficiency in above-ground conduit installation, including rigid conduit systems.

  • Hands-on experience with cable tray installation and cable management systems.

  • Experience installing grounding and bonding systems.

  • Ability to pull, route, terminate, and test power and control cables.

  • Experience installing lighting systems and electrical equipment in industrial environments.

  • Knowledge of safe work practices related to industrial construction projects.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a construction team.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Ability to instruct and support apprentices and helpers in the field.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in heavy industrial, processing plant, refinery, or similar industrial environments preferred.

  • Experience working on large-scale industrial construction or maintenance projects.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with all site-specific requirements.

  • Ability to work overtime and rotational schedules as project needs require.

  • Reliable transportation and ability to work at remote project locations when necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
