Job summary

U.S. Silica in Jackson, MS is seeking a senior Millwright to install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial equipment. You will lead installations, supervise crews, and ensure safety and quality on site.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and 8+ years of millwright experience, including leadership. On-site work with potential overtime and emergency responses.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of millwright experience, including supervisory or lead roles.
• High level of safety and quality.
• Ability to multi-task at a fast pace; outdoor work in all seasons; climb stairs & ladders; work from elevated platforms; use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform mechanical installations, shutdowns, repairs, and maintenance work.
• Train and mentor millwrights and support a strong safety culture.
• Work with management to improve maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Dismantle, move, align, and assemble machinery and equipment.
• Build foundations and secure machinery by bolting, welding, or fastening.
• Operate lathes and tools to machine parts to specification.
• Repair, lubricate, and maintain equipment.
• Perform basic electrical tasks related to motor replacement.
• Install robotic equipment and make basic program changes.
• Supervise small crews and see projects through completion.
• Follow all safety, quality, and food/feed safety requirements.
• Work overtime and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Millwright installs machinery and equipment in an industrial establishment by performing the following:

  • Ability to multi-task at a fast pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.)
  • Good problem-solving skills
• Preferred:
  • Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred
  • Forklift experience - Preferred
  • Computer Software - Preferred
  • Warehouse experience - Preferred
