Position Type: Full Time
Salary: $40.00 - $44.00 per hour (plus shift differentials)
Shift: Any shift (day, swing, graveyard)

What You’ll Do
- Ensure mill equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
- Maintain, install, repair, improve, and troubleshoot mill machinery including conveyor systems, saws, kilns, and de‑barkers
- Diagnose machine performance issues and implement corrective solutions
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Perform welding and fabrication to repair and modify equipment components
- Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Work with electricians on electrical systems and components
- Evaluate and test equipment efficiency, recommending improvements
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, parts inventory, and closing reports
- Proactively communicate with all departments to ensure proper operation of equipment
- Educate maintenance and operations teams on evolving programs
- Continuously evaluate and analyze quality, safety, and production processes
- Identify and suggest new approaches or best practices to drive improvement
- Partner with machine operators to improve efficiency and reliability
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
- Follow and model strict safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards
- Work cross‑functionally with production and leadership teams to keep the mill operating safely
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of industrial equipment maintenance experience (sawmill operations preferred)
- Proficient in mechanical systems: conveyor systems, saws, kilns, de‑barkers
- Skilled in welding and fabrication for equipment repair and modification
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance and troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and electrical safety practices
- Strong problem‑solving skills to diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately
- Team player with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Highly self‑motivated and able to work independently
- Willingness to mentor less experienced millwrights
- Adaptability to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Flexibility to work non‑standard hours or weekends when urgent needs arise
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures
Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, and move equipment as needed
- Comfortable working in loud conditions with airborne sawdust
- Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor temperatures
