Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Milling Machine Operator to run vertical and horizontal milling equipment, read technical drawings, and produce parts to tight tolerances. You will set up fixtures, calibrate tools, inspect parts with precision instruments, and document production details in a manufacturing setting.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of milling experience, strong attention to detail, and good communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of milling machine experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics; familiarity with G-code is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate vertical and horizontal milling machines for precision machining on metal and plastic parts.
  • Set up machines: fixtures, cutting tools, and workpieces; calibrate for accuracy.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to determine tolerances and dimensions.
  • Machining and modification of parts to meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform routine maintenance; report issues to supervisor.
  • Follow safety protocols and use PPE; maintain production records.
  • Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Operate vertical and horizontal milling machines to perform precision machining operations such as milling, drilling, and boring on a variety of materials including metals and plastics.
  • Setup and Calibration: Set up milling machines by installing and aligning fixtures, cutting tools, and workpieces. Adjust machine settings and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and drawings to determine machining requirements, including dimensions and tolerances.
  • Machining: Execute machining operations according to specifications, including creating and modifying parts to meet required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Inspection: Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to inspect finished parts and ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on milling machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and checking for wear. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Safety: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and any issues encountered during the machining process.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the machining process to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating milling machines in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating vertical and horizontal milling machines. Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics. Familiarity with G-code programming is a plus.
  • Tools: Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and machining tools. Ability to set up and calibrate machines accurately.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in machining operations and inspections.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve machine issues efficiently.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing, or a related field is .
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials. Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour
