Job summary

United Machining is seeking an Applications Manager to lead the Milling Applications Engineers and drive all milling‑related projects, demonstrations, and customer interactions. You will supervise hiring, training, and performance while coordinating installations and liaising with Sales and other departments.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years in high speed milling and tool making, plus ERP (Great Plains) and CAD/CAM proficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of high‑speed milling and tool‑making experience.
Experience with ERP systems, preferably Great Plains or similar.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM programming and Microsoft Office.
Strong problem‑solving and training abilities.

Responsibilities

Supervise Milling Applications Engineers and oversee the Applications Department responsibilities.
Plan and oversee milling‑related applications projects, RFQs, time studies, test cuts, and demonstrations.
Coordinate new installations and de-installations of machines at competence centers.
Oversee presale demonstrations, trade shows, and customer discussions; procure equipment and set up demos.
Provide knowledgeable technical applications support to customers and identify areas for improvement.
Develop dealer, customer, and staff training programs on safe operation of machines and equipment.
Produce and distribute technical documentation to dealers, customers and staff.
Maintain demo centers and advise on needed demos, tools, and equipment.
Communicate programs within applications and other departments; monitor overhead and travel expenses.
