Job summary

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a Mill Op Trainee to support mill operations and equipment during the shift. This 2nd shift role runs Monday through Thursday, 3:00pm–1:30am, with overtime as required.

Focus is on keeping the mill operational and driving KPI metrics. Ideal candidates have a High School or GED, experience with measuring devices, tooling, dies, and robot programming, plus forklift and overhead crane certification, a good mechanical

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Experience with measuring devices (calipers, tape measure).
• Ability to navigate and set up equipment controller for operation and parts programming.
• Roll tooling experience with set ups and change over.
• Change out press dies, cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment.
• Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Forklift and overhead crane certification.
• Experience with robot programming.

Responsibilities

• Keep the mill operational.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work area, 5S.
• Cross training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups.
• TPM of process and equipment in the area.
• Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor.
• Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products.
• Minimize scrap.
• Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner.

This position will be responsible for the roll from operations and equipment of the mill to insure continuous operation during the shift . This is a 2nd shift position, Monday - Thursday, 3:00pm - 1:30am. Overtime as required.

Qualifications: To perform this job sucessfully, an individual must meet expecations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abillities required

Education:

• High School or GED Equivalent

Experience:

• Experience in using special measuring devices, calipers, tape measure.
• Must be able to navigate, set up equipment controller for proper operation and parts programming.

Other:

• Must be able to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
• Good communication skills with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product.
• Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill.

Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities.
