Job summary

Ridge Rock in Utah is seeking a Mill Operator / General Laborer to support asphalt milling on road and site projects. You will help with surface prep, cleanup, traffic control, and equipment support to safely remove asphalt before paving.

Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-focused, able to lift up to 75 lbs, and willing to work outdoors in all weather. This position offers hourly pay between $20 and $28, depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Prior road crew or milling experience is a plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong safety focus and ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to work long hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Willing to travel overnight for projects outside local area.

  • Set up and tear down milling equipment and signage.
  • Remove debris from milled surfaces.
  • Support operators with ground guidance and material handling.
  • Load, unload, and organize tools and safety gear.
  • Flag traffic and assist with lane closures per DOT/site rules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Follow directions from the Milling Foreman and communicate clearly.
  • Wear PPE and adhere to OSHA safety standards.
  • Perform general labor to support milling operations.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Mill Operator / General Laborer to support asphalt milling operations on road, highway, and site development projects. This role assists with surface prep, cleanup, traffic control, and equipment support to ensure safe and efficient removal of asphalt prior to paving. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor environment. Pay can range from $20-$28/per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with setup and teardown of milling equipment and traffic control signage
  • Remove debris from milled surfaces using brooms, blowers, or shovels
  • Support equipment operators with ground guidance and material handling
  • Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and safety gear
  • Flag traffic or assist with lane closures and safety per DOT or site requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the job site
  • Follow direction from the Milling Foreman and communicate clearly with team members
  • Wear proper PPE and adhere to all company and OSHA safety standards
  • Perform general labor duties to support overall milling operations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
