Job summary

Pave America is hiring a Paving Equipment Operator to operate asphalt pavers, rollers, skid steers and related heavy equipment for road and lot projects. You will perform pre-shift inspections, follow safety protocols, and coordinate with the paving crew to ensure proper compaction and smooth finishes.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience, can work outdoors in varying weather, pass a drug test, and be willing to travel regionally if needed. CDL is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating paving or heavy equipment preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a drug test.
• Knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of heavy equipment including Mini excavators, Pavers, Skid steers and Forklifts depending on the project needs.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and report issues promptly.
• Load, unload, and position equipment safely on job sites.
• Work with the paving crew to ensure even asphalt distribution, proper compaction, and smooth finish.
• Follow grade markers and layout specifications to achieve desired slope and thickness.
• Maintain control of speed, feed, and depth of material application.
• Assist with handwork or labor duties when equipment is not in use.
• Comply with all safety regulations, traffic control procedures, and company policies.
• Communicate clearly with crew members and foreman during paving operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned
