Job summary

CMI Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a CNC Mill Operator for the night shift in a defense and aerospace machining environment. You will load materials, run programs, inspect parts, and perform routine maintenance on state-of-the-art equipment.

Responsibilities include minor program/tool offsets, tool changes, and ensuring traceability while meeting strict quality standards. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods; U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school completed.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Load material/parts into CNC mill and run programs.
• Perform daily machine maintenance and keep area clean.
• Inspect parts in-process for dimensional accuracy.
• Make minor program/tool offsets adjustments as needed.
• Replace worn or damaged tooling (inserts, end mills, drills, etc.).
• Sign off paperwork accompanying parts (MOT, Traveler).

Shift: Night shift

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.

CNC OPERATOR/ PARTS LOADING

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Loading material / parts into machine and running program.
• Daily maintenance on machine (checking fluid levels, cleaning out chips, etc).
• In-process inspection of parts.
• Minor program changes, mainly tool offsets.
• Replacement of worn or damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, end mills, drills, etc).
• Sign-off of paperwork accompanying parts (MOT, Inspection Traveler)
• Proper handling of parts.
• Proper identification of parts / parts containers to maintain traceability to job number & split lot.

EXPERIENCE / TRAINING REQUIRED:

• Machine maintenance requirements.
• Reading and understanding B/P’s including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and any other standard nomenclature per customer, government, or industry standards.
• Use of basic inspection, measuring and test equipment to verify dimensions of product.
• Basic knowledge of CNC code.
• Installation and removal of perishable tooling.
• Company specific handling requirements.
• Company specific product identification requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum High School Diploma or trade school
• Must be at least 18 years old and Authorized to work in the US
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand majority of the shift

Material working with: 304L, Nitronic 60, Inconel 718, 6061, 7075, aermet 100, D2
