Job summary

CMI Group in Tempe, AZ is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist to operate and maintain high-precision machining equipment in a fast-paced aerospace/defense environment.

You will load materials, run programs, perform basic inspections, and adjust tool offsets as needed while maintaining quality and traceability for each job. Shift options include day or night with differential for night shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or trade school.
• Experience operating CNC equipment and reading blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Load material/parts into machine and run programs.
• Perform daily machine maintenance and keep work area clean.
• Inspect parts in-process for conformance.
• Make minor program changes and tool offset adjustments.

Shift Options: Day shift or Night shift* (*Night Shift positions include 10% pay differential)

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.

CNC OPERATOR / MACHINIST

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Loading material / parts into machine and running program.
• Daily maintenance on machine (checking fluid levels, cleaning out chips, etc).
• In-process inspection of parts.
• Minor program changes, mainly tool offsets.
• Replacement of worn or damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, end mills, drills, etc).
• Sign-off of paperwork accompanying parts (MOT, Inspection Traveler)
• Proper handling of parts.
• Proper identification of parts / parts containers to maintain traceability to job number & split lot.

EXPERIENCE / TRAINING REQUIRED:

• Machine operation.
• Machine maintenance requirements.
• Reading and understanding B/P’s including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and any other standard nomenclature per customer, government, or industry standards.
• Use of basic inspection, measuring and test equipment to verify dimensions of product.
• Basic knowledge of CNC code.
• Installation and removal of perishable tooling.
• Company specific handling requirements.
• Company specific product identification requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum High School Diploma or trade school
• Must be at least 18 years old and Authorized to work in the US
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand majority of the shift
