Job summary

Packaging Corporation seeks a qualified engineer to lead capital projects in a mill environment. You will manage projects from concept to implementation, with project scopes ranging from $10,000 to $5,000,000, and perform feasibility studies for AFE development.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or paper engineering with at least 3 years in pulp/paper or related industry.
• Knowledge of process improvement, capital execution and project management methods is preferred.
• Ability to form and lead teams or contribute to a team environment.
• Must have computer skills, be highly organized, execute assignments and communicate effectively.
• Willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and project management expertise for capital project execution in a mill environment.
• Execute capital projects from inception to implementation ($10,000 to $5,000,000).
• Complete feasibility studies in support of AFE development.
• Handle project cost controls, planning and scheduling, contractor management, start-up, and safety.
• Interface with corporate engineering, outside consultants, equipment manufacturers and material suppliers.
• Ensure internal customer satisfaction through quality standards and practices.
• Work with project sponsors to justify capital funds expenditures.
