Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America in Massillon, OH is seeking an engineer to apply engineering principles to the design and execution of assigned projects within our paper and packaging operations.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering and knowledge of ISO quality systems; prior pulp and paper industry experience is preferred but not required. You will manage scope, schedule, and cost across projects and coordinate start-up activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or other 4-year technical degree and related experience.
• Prior work experience in pulp & paper industry preferred, but not essential.
• Adequate knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare scope and cost estimate for assigned projects.
• Develop an engineering, procurement and construction strategy for each project.
• Design and implement approved projects.
• Monitor and control project scope, schedule and cost.
• Manage project construction.
• Coordinate project commissioning and start-up.
• Communicate project status to operations and maintenance.
• Provide technical assistance to operations and maintenance to identify and solve routine problems.
