Qualifications

• Education - Completion of nursing program at an accredited school
• Training - Able to perform necessary mathematical tasks at above high school level.

Responsibilities

• Receiving orders & maintaining records of current orders.
• Communicating with medical personnel to clarify orders, preparing infant feedings using aseptic techniques and all policies and procedures developed for the operation of the infant feeding room.
• Labeling prepared feedings per policy and delivering feedings to the designated areas.
• Maintaining adequate supplies.
• Checking and disposing of all outdated supplies per policy.
• Rotating inventory, and operating all equipment needed to prepare feedings.
• Maintaining sanitation in the preparation area.
• Communicating with the registered dietician regarding individualized or non-standard recipes or orders.
• Filing and maintaining temperature records and other records as required for audits.
• Training ancillary/PRN or support staff personnel as necessary.
• Follow-up on the mothers who are providing breastmilk for their infants to ensure adequate supply and infection control.
