Job summary

Akima Global Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to perform receiving, storage, and distribution in support of Army equipment turn-in operations at Fort Riley, KS. You will document, stage, and safeguard equipment in compliance with Army regulations and contract requirements, while supporting supply technicians and supervisors to maintain accurate inventory.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of warehouse, supply, or logistics experience (Army or contractor preferred).
  • Familiarity with Army turn-in and supply procedures.
  • Army logistics systems (GCSS-Army, LMP, DPAS).
  • Forklift/MHE operation certification (OF 346) preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, real ID, CAC, and ability to obtain background checks.

  • Input property transactions in Army logistics systems.

Job description

The Warehouse Specialistis responsible forperforming receiving, storage, accountability, and distribution functions in support of Army equipment turn-in operations. This role ensures all equipment and materiel are properly documented, staged, stored, and safeguardedin accordance withArmy supply regulations, technical manuals, OSHA standards, and contract requirements. The Warehouse Specialist supports supply technicians, material coordinators, and supervisors tomaintainaccurateinventory and ensure efficient processing of large-scale equipment turn-ins.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and verify equipment and materiel turned in from Army units.
  • Check turn-in documents (DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts) for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assistin inspection and condition coding of items before storage or disposition.
  • Coordinate staging and movement of items into designated warehouse or yard areas.
  • Store, organize, andmaintainitems in warehouse locations in compliance with DA PAM 710-2-1 and AR 735-5.
  • Perform location surveys, bin checks, and cyclic inventories tomaintainaccountability.
  • Maintain segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, HAZMAT, and sensitive items.
  • Support preparation for Property Accountability Reviews (PARs) and audits.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE to safely move and stage equipment.
  • Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Assistin packaging, labeling, and preparing equipment for shipment or redistribution.
  • Input and update property transactions in Armylogisticssystems such as GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP.
  • Maintain warehouse logs, inventory control sheets, and daily activity records.
  • Support audit readiness throughaccuraterecordkeeping in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
  • Provide assistance tounit supply personnel delivering equipment to the site.
  • Resolve discrepancies in documentation and coordinate corrections with supervisors.
  • Support coordination with transportation personnel for outbound shipments.
  • Employees maybe requiredto perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate degree in logisticsor supply preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2–4 years of warehouse, supply, orlogisticsexperience (Army or contractor preferred).
    • Familiarity with Army turn-in and supply procedures highly desirable.
    • Army supply/property accountability regulations (AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-21).
    • Armylogisticssystems (GCSS-Army, LMP, DPAS).
    • Material handling and warehouse safety practices.
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to read and process Army documentation (DA and DD forms).
    • Forklift/MHE operation certification (OF 346) preferred.
    • Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work in high-tempo, large-volume turn-in environments.
    • Basicproficiencyin the English language (reading and writing).
    • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Must have a real ID.
  • Must be able to obtain andmaintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to obtain Tier1/ NACI (Public trust) background eligibility.
  • Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
  • Employees maybe requiredto perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to travel within the United States asrequired. This position may require up to 25% travel.
Physical Demands & Working Environment
  • Must be able tolift upto 50 lbs. and perform routine standing, walking, bending, and reaching tasks in warehouse and field environments.
  • Must also meet all physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties, including working in extreme heat or cold, high, or low humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, heights, and other inclement weather conditions.
  • This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, periodic overtime, and exposure to heat, dust, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
