Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Military Report Analyst for a remote contract role. The position focuses on developing prompts, artifacts, and golden responses for DoD staff writing tasks while ensuring compliance with military documentation standards.

Responsibilities include creating grading guidelines, producing authentic report artifacts (WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries), and refining prompts through iterative feedback. Strong DoD experience and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

Position: Military Report Analyst | $80/hr Remote

Type: Contract

Compensation: $40 - $80/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and provide well-structured prompts, input artifacts, and golden responses for DoD staff writing tasks.
• Create grading guidelines to evaluate AI-generated outputs, ensuring alignment with DoD standards.
• Produce authentic report artifacts reflecting real-world DoD documentation style and language.
• Contribute to the design and review of test materials evaluating AI capabilities in summarizing tasks.
• Engage in feedback cycles to refine prompts, responses, and grading rubrics based on project needs.
• Leverage communication experience to simulate reporting formats familiar to federal organizations.

Requirements

• Have strong relevant experience as a former federal contributor for the U.S. Department of Defense.
• Experience producing key reporting artifacts such as WARs, SITREPs, and executive summaries.
• Background in one of the six branches of the U.S. military with diverse experience across roles.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with back-office tools and processes, including PowerPoint and Excel documentation.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating and providing feedback on AI-generated writing outputs.
