Job summary

Magellan Health in Miami seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to deliver counseling to service members and their families on military installations. You will provide one-on-one sessions, briefings, and referrals, and coordinate DoD-compliant programs with installation POC support.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of financial counseling, U.S. citizenship, fluent English, and professional AFC/CFP/ChFC certifications. Some duties may be conducted virtually as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; associate degree with 4+ years may substitute.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish if required.
• Able to obtain Tier 2 background investigation.
• Must hold AFC, CFP, or ChFC certification.
• Must comply with OCI disclosures and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling to service members and families.
• Develop spending plans for extended absences.
• Create and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate personal financial management classes/workshops.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling via web-based or secure video platforms.
• Maintain DoD protocol for duty to warn and liaise with leadership.
• Participate in training, meetings, and contract activities as assigned.
