Job summary

Magellan Federal seeks a Personal Financial Counselor, Assignment Ready Counselor, in Minnesota to provide comprehensive financial counseling services to military service members and their families at installations. The role includes one-on-one counseling, group workshops, and collaboration with command and other providers.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of financial counseling, U.S. citizenship, English fluency, and the ability to obtain a Tier 2 investigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen and fluent English required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.
• Able to obtain a Tier 2 background investigation.
• Able to pass OCI disclosures.
• Certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
• Assist in creating spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute financial education materials and host classes/workshops.
• Coordinate and publicize personal financial management classes across the installation.
• Deliver counseling via in-person, virtual, and secure online channels.
• Maintain DoD protocol and coordinate with leadership and POCs.
