Job summary

DFAS is seeking candidates for a position at the GS-04/05 level to process and review military pay actions, ensuring accuracy and proper entitlements. The role involves examining supporting documents, auditing prior payments, and making standard adjustments within the automated pay system.

Applicants must meet federal requirements, be a U.S. citizen, and obtain/maintain a DoD FM Certification. The role may require security clearance and compliance with E-Verify.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
• To be hired at the GS-04 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of generalized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-03) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
• To be hired at the GS-05 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of a GS-04 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Responsibilities

• Process or review a wide variety of standard pay actions which establish, maintain, adjust or close pay accounts to adequately compensate service members
• Reviews all supporting documents prior to submitting pay transactions into the automated military pay system.
• Ensures that previous payments were proper, determines entitlements, previous bonuses paid, previous readjustment payments, etc.
• Makes standard adjustments to pay accounts and processes actions to adjust accounts, if necessary.
