TACFI Consulting LLC is hiring a Military Mailroom Specialist to support the U.S. Army at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. This onsite role handles official mail, packages, and sensitive materials with accountability and security.

The ideal candidate has experience in military postal operations or mailroom services, is able to operate with minimal supervision, and can lift up to 70 pounds with proper support. A Secret clearance is required.

Position Overview

Tacticians For Innovation (TACFI) Consulting LLC is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Military Mailroom Specialist to support the U.S. Army at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in military postal operations, mailroom services, shipping and receiving, or accountable mail handling who enjoys hands-on work and supporting the military community.

You will help ensure official correspondence, packages, and sensitive materials are received, processed, tracked, and delivered accurately and securely.

The position serves as the installation's designated Installation Postal Officer (IPO) and supports daily postal and print operations. It is an operational position, not a personnel supervisory role.

What You'll Do

• Receive, inspect, sort, track, and distribute official mail and packages, including USPS, FedEx, UPS, and other carriers.
• Process outgoing mail, operate postage meters, prepare shipments, and coordinate daily mail dispatch.
• Maintain accurate accountability and chain-of-custody records for registered, certified, insured, and classified mail.
• Support military postal operations, including official mail reporting, postage accounting, and required system entries.
• Coordinate mail pickup and distribution using a Government-provided vehicle.
• Maintain organized mailroom operations, delivery records, supplies, and equipment.
• Support printing, document reproduction, and administrative distribution requirements.
• Maintain operating procedures and coordinate with Army personnel to ensure postal activities meet Government requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of experience in customer service and postal, mailroom, shipping, receiving, or related operations.
• Experience handling mail, packages, shipping documentation, or other accountable materials.
• Valid civilian driver's license.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to communicate professionally, maintain accurate records, and work independently.
• Ability to perform physical mailroom duties, including handling packages weighing up to 70 pounds with appropriate assistance or equipment.

Government Required Qualifications

The position requires verified completion of the Automated Military Postal System (AMPS) Official Mail Manager and Mail Clerk training modules and applicable Government vehicle dispatch qualifications.

Candidates must also demonstrate the postal regulatory and operational knowledge required by the Army, including familiarity with official mail procedures, postal metering, USPS requirements, and accountable mail handling.
