Job summary

Akima is seeking an Operations Specialist in Wahiawa, Hawaii to manage Army logistics operations, receipts, processing and shipment of vehicles and repair parts.

Candidates will coordinate schedules, liaise with unit personnel, review documents, and ensure compliance with Army regulations.

This on-site role requires 3–5 years of experience, a High School diploma, and the ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience may substitute.
• 3–5 years in transportation or logistics coordination, Army context preferred.
• Experience with Army turn-in or SSA operations is desirable.
• Familiarity with Army regulations and transport documents is required.
• Must have valid driver''s license, real ID, CAC eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all operational activities for receipt, processing, and shipment of Army returns.
• Develop and manage shipment schedules to prevent bottlenecks in high volume operations.
• Serve as liaison with unit supply, warehouse teams, drivers, and leadership for cargo flow.
• Review and authorize shipping documents (DA 1348-1A, DD 1149, bills of lading).
• Audit movement data in TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, and DPAS for accuracy.
• Maintain shipping/receiving logs and audit readiness per ISO 9001:2015.
• Ensure compliance with DTR 4500.9-R, AR 55-355, AR 710-2, AR 735-5.
• Oversee HAZMAT packaging, marking, labeling prior to shipment.
• Oversee cargo securement per Army, DOT, OSHA standards.
• Prepare daily/weekly movement status reports for Site Manager and COR.
• Analyze KPIs and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Act as senior point of contact for transportation issues.
