Job summary

Magellan Health, Inc. seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to serve at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, MI. The role provides intensive financial counseling to service members and their families, develops financial education materials, and conducts workshops across the military lifecycle.

You will coordinate classes, engage with leadership, and offer remote counseling options as needed. The position requires a Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 3+ years' experience in financial counseling, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; may consider an associate degree plus 4 years' experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.
• Must be able to obtain a favorable adjudicated Tier 2 clearance and comply with OCI disclosures.
• Must have one of the following certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Develop and present financial education materials and workshops.
• Coordinate and publicize Personal Financial Management classes for various stages of military life.
• Utilize virtual counseling and other remote communication methods as authorized.
• Collaborate with leadership and POC to ensure program scope and installation needs are met.
