Job summary

Magellan Health, Orlando, FL, seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to provide one-on-one and group financial counseling at assigned military installations. You will deliver counseling, briefings, and referrals, supporting clients through all stages of the military lifecycle.

Responsibilities include coordinating educational materials, using virtual counseling tools, tracking DoD compliance, and collaborating with installation leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
• Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• One of the following certifications required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• Valid driver license (state requirement optional).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations, delivering one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referral resources.
• Coordinate educational materials and workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival, deployment, career events).
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication modes, including secure online chat and video teleconferencing.
• Monitor and manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with DoD protocol.
• Communicate with installation leadership, conduct regular supervision, and share trend information.
• Participate in in‑services, trainings, quality‑improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
