Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a knowledgeable financial counselor to provide one-on-one support to service members and their families across installations. The role emphasizes personalized budgeting, counseling, and collaboration with installation contacts to tailor services and resources effectively.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), at least three years in financial counseling, U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; an associate degree plus four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
At least three years of financial counseling experience.
U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish may be required by contract.
Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
Certified with one of: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

Offer one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or other staff, briefings, presentations, and referral resources beyond the counseling session.
Work with installation and branch POCs to ensure the program meets installation needs and remains within scope.
Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families, including spending plans for extended absences.
Develop, make available, and publicize informational financial materials.
Coordinate and deliver personal financial management classes and workshops covering the military lifecycle.
