Job summary

BEACON is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Worker to prepare meals at a military dining facility in Los Alamitos, CA. You will follow standardized recipes, maintain sanitation, and work with the team to meet service expectations, ensuring high-quality food under safety standards.

This full-time role requires adherence to HACCP guidelines, ability to work varied shifts including weekends/holidays, and obtaining ServSafe certification. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; one year in food service preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items in accordance with military dining facility guidelines and standards.
• Follows standardized recipes and production logs for preparation, seasoning, cooking, tasting, and baking.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely (mixers, slicers, ovens, grills, fryers, steamers).
• Measures and prepares ingredients; trims and portions meats, poultry, and fish.
• Cooks breakfast items, hot entrees, starches, vegetables, cereals, sandwiches, pizza, soups, and salads.
• Maintains clean and sanitary work areas and utensils; labels and stores leftovers per HACCP guidelines.
• Monitors stock, reports shortages, and supports HACCP procedures and sanitation.
