Job summary

Beacon, formerly VTC Enterprises/LOVARC, is seeking a Kitchen/Chef Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations in San Luis Obispo, CA. The role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, ordering food, and ensuring adherence to military-style standards and contract requirements.

The position requires strong leadership, attention to HACCP, and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Experience in large-scale food service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum education as stated: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Bachelor's in restaurant management or hospitality.
• Minimum 2 years in food service management or military dining operations.
• Experience supervising and training staff in food service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, supervise and train staff.
• Order food, maintain inventory, ensure food safety and HACCP compliance.
• Prepare and complete daily production records as required by contract.
• Monitor meals per contract requirements and ensure proper portion control.

Education
