Job summary

Beacon is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare high-quality meals for a military dining facility, following standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines. Duties include operating hot kitchen equipment, portioning ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, ServSafe certification, and prior kitchen experience. Must be able to work weekends/evenings/nights/holidays and support team with events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in food service preferred.
• Culinary arts training or vocational training is preferred.
• Prior commercial kitchen experience or cooking for large groups desired.
• Previous experience using a grill preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items in strict accordance with military dining facility guidelines and standards.
• Follows standardized recipes and production logs for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, and baking.
• Operates mixers, slicers, ovens, grills, fryers, and steamers safely.
• Measures and mixes ingredients, washes, peels, and portions ingredients.
• Cooks a variety of menu items including breakfast items, entrees, sides, soups, and salads.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas and equipment.
• Labels, dates, and stores leftovers per HACCP guidelines.
• Monitors and rotates stock, reports shortages or quality issues.
• Follows HACCP procedures and safety guidelines.
