Job summary

Beacon, formerly VTC Enterprises/LOVARC, prepares and serves meals in a military dining setting, following strict HACCP and facility guidelines. The role requires food service experience and a ServSafe certification, with a start rate of $20.50/hour in a full-time California position.

Responsibilities include following standardized recipes, operating diverse kitchen equipment, and maintaining sanitation throughout shifts while collaborating with the Chef Manager and kitchen staff to ensure

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in food service preferred.
• Culinary arts training or vocational training is preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work weekends, evenings, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items in accordance with military dining facility guidelines and standards.
• Follows recipes and production logs; variations must be approved by Chef Manager.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely to prepare meals.
• Cooks a variety of menu items including breakfast items, entrees, sides, soups, and salads.
• Maintains kitchen cleanliness and proper labeling/storage of leftovers.
