Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Milieu Coordinator to support the safe, efficient, and therapeutic operation of the milieu at Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System, a 140-bed hospital providing inpatient services.

The role involves overseeing nursing unit functioning, mentoring Mental Health Techs, leading orientation, and collaborating on safety huddles to ensure patient safety and routine structure.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• Degree preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in direct patient care AND/OR Completion of Nursing Assistant Training/previous psychiatric experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall functioning of the nursing unit(s).
• Serve as preceptor for MHTs and oversee new orientees precepting on the unit.
• Lead floor orientation for training newly hired Mental Health Techs, modeling ideal therapeutic interactions, boundaries, and professional conduct.
• Provide real-time feedback, performance coaching and needed competency/training to Mental Health Techs.
• Participate with the charge nurse to complete safety huddles during shift changes and communicate patient risk factors and behavior updates.
• Ensure daily patient schedules (meals, group therapy, recreation, hygiene, rest periods) are maintained to provide structure and stability for patients.
