Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) physician to join our Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in New Jersey. The physician will provide expert, evidence-based care and lead a high-volume surgical practice with a dedicated outpatient MIGS clinic.

The role includes academic responsibilities, teaching residents and fellows, and active participation in research and scholarly activity within a comprehensive academic health system.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Completion of a MIGS fellowship from an AAGL-recognized or equivalent program.
• Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG or AOA).
• Advanced surgical competency in laparoscopic, robotic-assisted, and hysteroscopic techniques for complex benign gynecologic disease.
• Robotic surgery certification and demonstrated high-volume robotic experience (da Vinci or equivalent).
• Experience with complex endometriosis surgery including bowel, bladder, and ureter involvement.
• Experience with uterine-sparing procedures including laparoscopic and robotic myomectomy for complex fibroids.
• Prior experience in graduate medical education, resident or fellow teaching and surgical training.
• Familiarity with enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols in gynecology.
• Experience with outpatient and office-based gynecologic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-volume surgical and clinical practice.
• Perform complex laparoscopic and/or robotic procedures including laparoscopic hysterectomy for large uteri and myomectomy for complex fibroids.
• Serve as a departmental resource and trainer for laparoscopic and/or robotic gynecologic surgery technique and program development.
• Provide office-based procedures including endometrial biopsy, IUD placement and removal, and in-office hysteroscopy.
• Maintain a dedicated MIGS clinic for new patient consultations, preoperative evaluations, and postoperative follow-up.
• Collaborate with other departments for complex gynecologic surgical cases.
• Contribute to development of ERAS protocols and clinical care pathways.
• Participate in robotic surgery quality review and credentialing processes.
