Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Quality Engineer to own the quality strategy for Payments Acceptance. You will build automated guardrails in CI/CD, architect high-concurrency tests, and ensure peak-period stability. You will integrate AI-assisted tools and develop emulators for payment networks while implementing telemetry with Prometheus and Grafana.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quality engineering and performance testing for high-throughput systems.
• Hands-on test suites in Java, Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Strong REST API testing and microservices validation.
• Experience running large-scale load/stress tests with JMeter/Locust/Gatling/k6.
• Embedded automated quality gates in CI/CD, including GitHub Actions and GitOps.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS in AWS.
• Experience testing event-driven architectures (Kafka/SQS).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases under load.
• Nice-to-have: payments security domain and PCI-DSS/SOC2.

• Build high-performance emulators for external systems such as card networks and partner integrations

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focusing on quality engineering, test automation framework design, and performance testing for complex, high-throughput distributed systems
• Deep hands-on experience building automated test suites in Java, Python, Go, or TypeScript
• Strong command of REST API testing and microservices validation
• Proven track record designing and running performance, stress, and load tests at scale using tools like JMeter, Locust, Gatling, or k6
• Direct experience embedding automated quality gates into modern CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and GitOps
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS in public cloud environments, especially AWS
• Experience testing event-driven architectures such as Kafka and SQS
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data consistency, and transactional integrity under load
• Innate drive to eliminate manual friction, proactively seek edge cases, and solve complex quality challenges end-to-end
• Experience with tokenization, payment processing, or security products (nice to have)
• BA/BS degree (nice to have)
• Domain expertise in 3DS, Network Tokens, Account Updater, or payment gateway integrations (nice to have)
• Experience with AI developer tools, LLM-generated test automation pipelines, or synthetic test data generation (nice to have)
• Practical knowledge of PCI-DSS and SOC2 compliance and cloud security constraints (nice to have)
