Job summary

Texas Workforce Commission seeks a Migrant Seasonal Farmworker Outreach Representative to serve Southwest Texas counties. This field-based role focuses on empowering farm workers by connecting them with job counseling, training, and support services, and by promoting state workforce programs.

Responsibilities include initial needs assessments in the field, assisting with applications and WorkInTexas, educating workers on rights, and recording outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Two years six months of relevant field experience
• Relevant academic credits may be applied toward qualifications

Responsibilities

• Promote Workforce Services by locating MSFWs in communities and informing them of job counseling, training, and support services
• Perform initial needs assessments in the field and encourage MSFWs to visit a workforce center for personalized assistance
• Assist with completing applications and navigating WorkInTexas.com
• Promote the Agricultural Recruitment System (ARS) to local employers and connect with Business Service Representatives
• Educate farm workers on their rights and assist them in preparing and filing employment-related complaints (Form ETA-8429)
• Meticulously record all outreach contacts, referrals, and services in state reporting systems
• Occasional travel to the state office in Austin is required
