Job summary

TMD Staffing in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced welder for an in-person shop role. You will assemble and weld metal components, review blueprints, cut and finish welds, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.

You will fabricate and repair heavy-duty steel shipping containers and industrial storage bins, with MIG welding; experience with galvanized metal is a plus. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 12:15 PM–8:45 PM, pay rate $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous basic welding experience required.
• Must pass a weld test.
• MIG welding experience and knowledge required.
• Experience welding galvanized metal is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and weld metal components together.
• Repair damaged metal components using welding equipment and heavy machinery.
• Review blueprints and follow specifications to complete welding projects.
• Cut metal to the appropriate size and shape.
• Smooth and finish welded areas to remove imperfections.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Fabricate, repair, and modify heavy-duty collapsible steel shipping containers and industrial storage bins.
• Weld structural steel frames, panels, hinges, doors, and forklift pockets on industrial containers.
