Job summary

Powell is hiring a Welder at our Southeast Houston manufacturing facility. The Fitter/Welder produces sheet metal weldments and reads drawings to meet tolerances. The role includes grinding welds for cosmetic finishes and following ISO safety rules. Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:00am-2:30pm; OT as needed.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of welding experience, basic English proficiency, and the ability to work in a shop environment with PPE. Powell offers strong benefits and room for advancement.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years welding experience preferred.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and weld to specifications.
• Familiarity with MIG welding of mild and stainless steel.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld mild steel and stainless steel.
• Perform basic fitting and part inspection to ensure dimensions.
• Follow departmental procedures, safety rules and ISO requirements.
• Inspect welds for cosmetic and dimensional quality and grind as needed.
