Powell Electrical Manufacturing Company is hiring a MIG Welder for our Southeast Houston facility. The role focuses on fabricating welded sheet metal weldments, reading drawings, and ensuring each weld meets spec within tolerance.

Expect 1–2 years of experience, basic English, and adherence to safety rules. Responsibilities include welding mild and stainless steel, basic fitting, machine setup, grinding, and inspection against complex drawings.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant welding experience.
• Basic command of English (written and verbal).
• Ability to execute hot work and read drawings.
• Follow safety rules and ISO procedures.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld mild steel and stainless steel as required.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings to locate welds.
• Perform basic fitting and adjust machines per procedures.
• Grind welds and buff surfaces to meet specs.
• Inspect welds against drawings and AWS standards.
• Identify materials and use appropriate welding processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe shop and follow LOTO rules.
