Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled MIG Welder in Gilbert, AZ to weld black carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe on a moving production line. You will ensure repeatable, high-quality welds while meeting cycle time and takt time targets, with strong focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires prep work, root/fill/cap welding, and collaboration with the production team to hit daily output. On-site facility offers modern equipment and a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Proven, recent MIG welding experience on black carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Experience with dissimilar metal welds (carbon steel to stainless).
• Strong pipe prep skills: grinding, beveling, cleaning, fit-up.
• Ability to perform root, fill, and cap passes to weld quality standards.
• Familiarity with takt time and cycle time in a high-speed production setting.
• Comfort working on a moving production line and handling repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on black carbon steel pipe up to 8 inches and 4-inch assemblies.
• Weld elbows and flanges connecting to compressors with strong, clean joints.
• Execute root, fill, and cover cap passes per procedures and quality standards.
• Prepare materials by grinding, beveling, and cleaning for weld readiness.
• Maintain weld quality while meeting cycle time and takt time targets.
• Operate on a moving production line with a line-driven workflow.
• Follow safety, quality, and production procedures and use PPE correctly.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet daily output goals.
• Perform basic fabrication and fit-up for flanges and elbows as needed.
• Participate in weld testing and inspections to verify skills.
