Job summary

Basin Material Handling in Roanoke, IL is seeking skilled MIG welders to join our award-winning team. You will weld with electrodes and guns to meet fusion requirements on racks and related fabrications, while following safety and quality procedures.

The position offers full-time hours, Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, with overtime as needed. We provide benefits including health insurance, paid holidays and vacation, 401k, and education reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of welding experience.
• Read a calibrated tape measure and read blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining arc length and depth of fusion as judged by sound, bead appearance and puddle.
• 5S reporting and metrics are required.
• May act as line leader, setting up lines and checking weld quality of co-workers as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Welder’s essential duties and responsibilities:

• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle
• BPS reporting and metrics are required, including 5S
• May act as line leader, setting up lines, and checking weld quality of co-workers as required
• Other duties as assigned

Required experience and skills:

• 2+ years of welding experience
• Perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractional equivalents
• Read a calibrated tape measure
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to read and interpret documents finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals
• Forklift certificate/ability to receive forklift certificate
