Hennig is seeking a Welder II – Base Welder to perform base-welding operations independently, meeting print, dimensional, quality, and production requirements. You will interpret base-weld prints, position components, and produce quality welds while inspecting and repairing as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years MIG welding experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must read and understand English.
  • Able to interpret base-weld prints and specifications.
  • Proficient in MIG welding, fabrication, fit-up, and base-welding techniques.
  • Able to set up and safely operate welding and fabrication equipment.
  • Able to inspect welds and perform repairs as needed.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform base-welding operations per prints and specs.
  • Interpret base-weld prints and position components.
  • Produce quality welds and inspect completed work.
  • Conduct weld repairs and use welding equipment.
  • Operate crane after training and certification.
  • Maintain shop safety, PPE, and 5S practices.
  • Work independently and meet production takt-time requirements.
  • Lift and handle parts up to 40 pounds with team assistance.
