Job summary

Hennig is seeking a Welder I – Sub Welder to develop foundational welding and fabrication skills while performing sub-weld operations. You will learn to set up welding equipment, read fabrication prints, measure and position components, perform common welds, and complete weld repairs in a manufacturing setting.

Requirements include 1–3 years of MIG welding experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and D1.1 Flat certification within 30 days of starting. English reading proficiency is required.

  • 1–3 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up welding equipment to required specifications, including gas and wire changes.
  • Access, read, and interpret sub-weld fabrication prints to determine weld type, location, and length.
  • Measure components using inches and metric millimeters.
  • Use levels and squares to verify location, fit-up, and alignment to specification.
  • Perform MIG welds and sub-weld operations and prepare components for welding.
  • Identify weld discontinuities and perform necessary repairs.
  • Operate crane equipment after training and certification.
  • Complete production documentation and sign-off processes.
