Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a MIG Welder/Fabricator for a permanent role in Gahanna, OH. You will weld structural steel, read blueprints, and join a small team to deliver high-quality components for a large, long-term project. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and efficient production in a busy job shop environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on MIG welding experience with structural steel.
• Strong understanding of welding techniques and best practices for structural steel applications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for fabrication and welding tasks.
• Demonstrated great work ethic and reliability in a production or shop environment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team setting.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team of up to three people.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on structural steel components, including material up to approximately 2 inches thick.
• Interpret and work from blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of structural steel parts.
• Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment and tools to meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect welds and finished components for quality, accuracy, and adherence to required tolerances.
• Collaborate effectively with a team of up to three people to coordinate tasks and meet production goals.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Adapt to working on a variety of projects and materials typical of a job shop environment.
• Communicate proactively with teammates and supervisors regarding progress, issues, and improvement ideas.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by maintaining high work standards and a reliable work ethic.
