Job summary

BESTAFF in New Albany, IN is seeking an experienced MIG Welder for a daytime, first-shift role. You will weld fabricated parts to exact specs, read blueprints, measure and fit components, and maintain a clean, safe work area in a machine shop environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years MIG welding experience, blueprint literacy, strong measurement skills, reliable attendance, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs; pay is based on experience.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years MIG welding experience
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Strong measuring skills and attention to detail
• Experience in a machine shop or fabrication environment preferred
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on fabricated parts and assemblies to exact specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to set up each job
• Measure, lay out, and fit parts using tape measures, calipers, and squares
• Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and appearance
• Grind, clean, and prep materials before and after welding
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe in a machine shop setting
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
