Job summary

Aerotek in New Albany, IN is seeking a Welder and Fabricator to join a first-shift custom weld shop. This role focuses on high-quality MIG and flux core welding, fabricating steel components per blueprints, and using precision measuring tools to ensure accurate fabrication.

You will read blueprints, measure, fit and assemble parts, operate basic fabrication tools, and maintain safety. The first shift runs 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, in a production-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Experience welding steel with MIG and flux core processes.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret fabrication details.
• Proficient use of measuring tools for accurate layouts.
• Experience with various steel types including aluminum, hot rolled and cold rolled.
• Knowledge of shop safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Weld using MIG and flux core with consistent quality.
• Perform stick welding when required.
• Fabricate components from steel and aluminum.
• Read blueprints and interpret requirements.
• Measure and fit parts using tape measures, gauges, squares.
• Inspect finished welds and maintain clean workspace.
• Operate basic fabrication equipment and ensure safety.
