Job summary

Ag Growth International Inc. (AGI) is hiring a Welder for our Marshall, IL facility on straight day shift, Monday through Friday. Compensation ranges from $20.00/hour to $22.00/hour based on experience.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, interpret welding specifications, and operate various welding equipment. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 months to 1 year of related experience. Applicants must be able to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Able to perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractions.
• Able to use weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as specified by engineering.
• Guide electrode or gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions.
• Examine weld for bead size and specifications.
• Select torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux according to welding chart specifications.
