Job summary

Exmark in Beatrice, Nebraska, a division of The Toro Company, seeks a skilled welder for 1st shift. You will read plans, set up welding cells, perform MIG welds, inspect surfaces, and help maintain safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have experience with welding equipment, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a lean, clean environment is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Some technical knowledge and ability to follow standard work and procedures
• Ability and experience in using a variety of welders and demonstrated welding techniques
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other instructions to perform tasks.
• Select weld jig, position and secure parts in weld jig by loading parts by hand or by hoist.
• Perform MIG tack welds and seam welds based on project needs.
• Set up welding cells for production runs.
• Buff and inspect welded surfaces to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and 5S initiatives.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks on fixtures including torch alignment and consumables changes.
• Strive to meet safety, quality, cost, and productivity standards.
• Continually seek to improve production methods, equipment performance and product quality.
• Learn a variety of different product lines.
• Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are controlled and improved.
• Willingly perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
